Burnett Furniture
A Henryetta Legacy Since 1903

Nestled in the heart of Henryetta at 421 W Main Street, Burnett Furniture Inc. stands as one of Oklahoma’s oldest and most enduring family-owned businesses. Established in 1903 by Gilbert and Mary (Moore) Burnett and her brother, the business has not only withstood the test of time but also evolved gracefully through five generations of the Burnett family lineage.

Now owned and operated by Natalie and Mark Kerby, Burnett Furniture continues to be a cornerstone of Henryetta’s Main Street. The Kerbys, both Henryetta natives, are passionate about serving their community, raising their family here, and honoring the Burnette legacy with each sale and customer interaction.

What began as a hardware store, then furniture and a boutique over a century ago has blossomed into a full-service furniture, boutique, appliances, and mattress retailer. Through every shift in consumer needs, economic recessions, and even global pandemics, Burnett Furniture has adapted—proving the strength and flexibility of a deeply rooted, community-driven business.

Burnett Furniture’s mission remains simple: to provide high-quality, affordable home goods with a commitment to personal service that big-box stores can’t match. “We may not be the biggest, but we strive to be the best,” Natalie shared. Their customer base spans Okmulgee, Hughes, and McIntosh Counties, where they are known for integrity, reliability, and small-town charm.

A Team Built on Trust

At the heart of the business is a dedicated team:

  • Natalie Kerby: Sales, marketing, buyer, and business management

  • Mark Kerby: Sales, IT, website management, and store operations

  • Dwayne Chamberlain: Appliance manager and logistics expert

  • Jeremy Powell: Warehouse manager and resident “fixer of everything”

Deep Community Roots

Burnett Furniture’s connection to the community goes beyond commerce. Nathalie is an active board member with the First Family Federal Credit Union and Henryetta Education Foundation, and is involved with Henryetta First United Methodist Church. Mark serves on the Henryetta Hallmark board, and together they have supported countless local school events and church fundraisers.

Twice a year, the store hosts its celebrated Night Sales—an Anniversary Sale in April and an Inventory Reduction Sale in October—turning shopping into a community event and offering substantial discounts that customers look forward to all year long.

A Future That Stays Local

While many small-town businesses struggle with longevity, Burnett Furniture continues to thrive by staying true to its values and vision. “Our plan is to stay in this community we love,” the Kerby’s emphasize. “We are both from here and want to raise our children here.”

Their unwavering presence on Main Street isn’t just a symbol of retail success—it’s a story of resilience, family, and faith in small-town America. Burnett Furniture isn’t just a business—it’s a Henryetta tradition.
